question

Question:
Hey everyone! I’ll be a sophomore next year and I’m curious about the workload for the classes I plan to take. I’m considering:
– Honors Algebra 2
– Honors Chemistry
– AP World History
– Orchestra
– Japanese 2
– Bible (as it’s a requirement at my private school)
– English 10

Just so you know, I took Honors Biology this year and ended up with a 4.0 GPA. Do you think I’m taking on too much? I appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks!

  1. It’s great that you’re thinking carefully about your course load! Based on your experience in Honors Biology and maintaining a 4.0 GPA, it sounds like you’re capable of handling a challenging schedule.

Your planned classes do have a mix of rigor, especially with the AP World History course and the honors classes. Here are a few things to consider:

    1. Workload: Each honors and AP class will likely require significant time for homework, studying, and projects. Make sure you are comfortable with managing your time effectively.

    2. Orchestra and Japanese: Both of these subjects can be time-consuming but are also rewarding. If you enjoy them, they can provide a good balance to your academic courses.

    3. Bible and English: These classes might not be as demanding as the honors/AP classes, but don’t underestimate the importance of strong writing and critical thinking skills, especially in English.

    4. Personal Interest: If you’re passionate about the subjects you’re choosing, that can make a big difference in how manageable they feel.

    5. Time Management: Developing good time management skills will help you juggle your commitments. Consider creating a schedule or planner to keep track of assignments and deadlines.

Ultimately, it all depends on your personal strengths, interests, and how you prioritize your time. It might be helpful to talk to some upperclassmen or teachers who have experience with these courses for more insights. Good luck, and remember to take care of yourself during the school year!

Choir Experience I’m not sure if I’m overthinking things, but there’s this girl in my choir who makes me feel really ignored. One time, while I was hanging out with my friend during lunch, I tried to engage her in conversation by asking a few questions, but it was as if I didn’t exist — […]
