Scholarship

Scholarship Inquiry

I’m curious about how scholarships work in relation to military education benefits. I’ve been accepted with a scholarship, and my tuition is fully covered by my military benefits. Does anyone know if the scholarship funds can be converted into leftover money? Or does this vary by school? Any insights would be appreciated!

  1. The treatment of scholarships in conjunction with military benefits can indeed vary by institution, but there are some general principles that can help clarify things.

In many cases, if your tuition is fully covered by military benefits, any scholarships you receive may be considered as excess funding. This means that the scholarship could be applied to other eligible expenses like books, supplies, or fees, depending on your school’s policies. Some institutions may allow you to receive the scholarship as a refund if your tuition is already covered, while others may reduce the scholarship amount accordingly.

It’s important to check with your school’s financial aid office for specific policies regarding this situation. They can provide detailed information on how your military benefits and scholarship will interact and any options you may have for utilizing any leftover funds. Each school might have different guidelines or agreements regarding financial aid packages, so getting clarity from them is the best route.
