Should I go to prom?

Should I attend prom?

With the prom ticket deadline approaching, I’m feeling uncertain about whether to go. It’s not that I can’t afford it, but spending $150 plus the cost of my dress feels a bit much. Plus, I don’t really have a solid group of friends to attend with. Everyone at school keeps saying, “It’s our senior year! We can’t miss prom!” but I’m not sure how I feel about it anymore.

Honestly, my so-called friends often ditch me to hang out without inviting me, which makes me wonder what prom would be like. I’ve never attended any of the homecoming dances, and while I want to create some memories, I can’t help but picture myself sitting alone at a table while everyone else dances and takes photos together. I just need some advice: Should I go or skip it?

One Reply to “Should I go to prom?”

  1. It sounds like you’re in a tough spot, and it’s completely understandable to feel conflicted about prom. Remember, prom is supposed to be a fun, memorable experience, but it’s not the only opportunity you have to create great memories during your senior year.

    Consider a few things:

    1. Your Feelings: Think about how you would feel if you went. If you really want to experience the event and are willing to prepare for it, maybe it’s worth going. However, if you feel that you would be uncomfortable or isolated, it may be better to skip it.

    2. Alternative Plans: You could also think about making your own plans with the friends you actually enjoy spending time with, even if they’re not part of your school. Sometimes, doing something special with a smaller group can be even more rewarding than attending a big event.

    3. Hashtag it Your Way: If you decide to go, try to approach it in a way that feels right for you. Consider going with a group that is fun and lighthearted, even if they’re not your usual friends. It could turn into a memorable night, or you might find that you have more fun than expected.

Ultimately, listen to your instincts and do what feels best for you. It’s about creating memories, but those memories don’t have to be tied to a specific event. Whatever you choose, make sure it aligns with what you want. Good luck!

What engaging twist should I consider for our group’s report? I was thinking of using a Wowowin-style presentation, but since our topic revolves around orchestras and renowned Filipino playwrights, it doesn’t quite seem to fit. Any suggestions?
