So done with school participation

I’m really struggling with school participation right now. Waking up at 5:30 AM EST every day is really tough for me, and trying to get out of bed feels like a battle. The bus comes at 6:44 AM EST, which doesn’t make it any easier.

Each morning leaves me feeling drained, and this week I’ve really hit a wall with burnout from attending school constantly. I know I need to keep my attendance perfect for college applications, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult.

Getting in the shower is the hardest part because I’m so exhausted; all I want to do is stay in bed and relax.

I’m feeling overwhelmed and just can’t keep this up. Does anyone have any advice? What should I do?

  1. It sounds like you’re really feeling the weight of school right now, and I totally get how exhausting that early morning routine can be. Here are some tips that might help you manage your fatigue and find a little relief:

    1. Prioritize Sleep: Try to go to bed a little earlier to ensure you’re getting enough rest. Aim for at least 7-8 hours if you can. Consider creating a calming bedtime routine to help you wind down.

    2. Make Mornings Easier: Prepare as much as you can the night before—pack your lunch, lay out your clothes, and have your shower items ready. This can make your mornings feel less overwhelming.

    3. Incorporate Quick Relaxation: If showering feels like too much some days, consider just a quick rinse to wake you up or splashing your face with cold water.

    4. Find Small Moments to Recharge: Even a few minutes of stretching or deep breathing in the morning can help. If you can, take short breaks throughout the day to give yourself a mental reset.

    5. Stay Connected: Talk to friends or family members about how you’re feeling. Sometimes just sharing what you’re going through can lighten the load a bit.

    6. Look for Opportunities to Rest: If your school has moments where you can take a breather, use that time to chill or do something you enjoy, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

    7. Consider Your Priorities: While perfect attendance can be beneficial, your well-being is what truly matters. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s okay to take a step back and evaluate what’s most important to you.

If things continue to feel too heavy, don’t hesitate to reach out to a counselor or trusted adult who can provide support. Remember, you’re not alone in how you’re feeling!

I HATE parental pressure

I’m really frustrated with parental pressure. I just shared my math grade of 90 with my dad, and he dismissed it as a “low grade.” Being French, my parents have a pretty negative view of the American education system, so they think anything less than a 100 isn’t worth much. He even mentioned that a […]

What math course should i take?

Which math course should I choose? I’m considering two options: Skip geometry and take it over the summer, followed by Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus. Complete geometry and take an accelerated Algebra 2 course to skip Pre-Calculus. Regardless of the path I choose, I want to make sure I can complete two years of calculus. Edit: […]
