Dear Teachers,
I kindly urge you to turn up the heat in the classroom. If that’s not an option, please consider dialing back the cold air. It only serves to distract us as we mentally grumble about the chill and daydream about cozy blankets and hot cocoa. I can’t help but think that this affects our focus during lessons on the preterite.
Sure, I could wear a jacket, but honestly, what’s a jacket like? It’s just a lighter version of a blanket. So here I am, in a room that feels like it belongs in the Arctic, wrapped in what feels like a blanket, struggling to stay alert while you explain polynomials. Have you ever tried to concentrate when you’re cozy but freezing, while someone is discussing complex topics? It’s almost impossible!
I’m asking you to create a comfortable environment because, I promise, I’ll be more attentive if I’m not freezing. I don’t want to get an F in this class any more than you want me to! You don’t need to install a heater—just please ease off on the cold air. Let’s work together to make this a better learning experience for us all. Thank you!
Dear Students,
I completely understand your plea, and I genuinely appreciate your honesty! The classroom environment can have a big impact on your focus and learning. I want to ensure that each of you feels comfortable and engaged during our lessons.
I’ll certainly consider adjusting the temperature or reducing the airflow to help create a more conducive atmosphere for learning. It’s important for everyone to be able to concentrate fully on the material without the distraction of being cold.
In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or specific circumstances that are affecting your comfort, please feel free to share them. Your feedback is valuable, and together, we can create a better learning experience.
Thank you for expressing your thoughts, and let’s work together to make our classroom as cozy as possible (without compromising our learning, of course!).
Warm regards (pun intended),
[Your Teacher]
