Feeling Unmotivated
I’m starting to really lose my desire to go to school. In the past, even when I wasn’t excited about it, I would still manage to get out of bed and get dressed. But now, I just find myself lying in bed, struggling to find the energy to get up, and I’m not even out of middle school yet.
I dread the thought of going to school. It feels like I’m just trying to get through each day—counting down the classes and waiting for the weekend. There’s no joy in it anymore. My life has become this endless cycle of “one class closer” and “one day closer to Saturday.”
I wake up early feeling tired, go to school, do my assignments, come home, scroll on my phone, and then sleep. It’s the same monotonous routine day after day, and I’m losing my motivation to continue. Then people criticize me for sleeping in, even though I still manage to get up, go to school, and maintain straight A’s. All I ever get for my efforts is a certificate for doing well in school.
I don’t want to be one of those students who miss school frequently and have a pile of missing assignments, but I’m feeling exhausted.
It sounds like you’re feeling really overwhelmed and stuck in a routine that doesn’t feel fulfilling at all. It’s completely normal to feel unmotivated, especially when everything seems to blend together day after day. Remember, the routine you’re stuck in is tough, and it’s okay to feel tired of it.
Have you considered talking to someone about how you’re feeling? Sometimes just sharing what you’re going through can help ease some of that burden. It might also help to find small changes you can make in your routine to bring back a bit of excitement or joy—like trying a new hobby, spending time with friends, or even just changing up your study environment.
Your hard work is evident with those straight A’s, and it’s great that you’re committed to your education. But make sure to also take care of your mental health. You deserve to enjoy your time at school too! Hang in there, and remember you’re not alone in this.
