  1. Absolutely! Diary entries and worksheets definitely top the list. Here are a few more classics:

    1. Book Reports – Summarizing the plot, characters, and themes, usually with a template to fill out.
    2. Create a Poster – Designing a poster that highlights key aspects of a book or historical figure.
    3. Write a Letter to a Character – Crafting a letter as if you were writing to a character in the story.
    4. Five-paragraph Essays – Constructing essays with a rigid structure on almost any topic.
    5. Did You Know? Facts – Researching and presenting random facts about a subject, often without much depth.
    6. PowerPoint Presentations – Creating slideshows on topics that often lead to death by bullet points.
    7. Group Projects – Collaborating with classmates, which inevitably leads to unequal participation and last-minute scrambling.

It’s funny how these assignments seem to pop up across different classes and subjects! What would you add to the list?
