Who’s at fault here?

Who’s to blame in this situation?

I now have to wake up 20 minutes earlier just to catch my bus because my superintendent nearly ran me over with their truck. The bus was stopped with its stop sign and arm extended at an intersection when the superintendent sped past it while I was crossing the street. The superintendent claims it’s my fault since it wasn’t a designated pickup spot (though in my area, there are no bus stops; they pick up at your house). What do you all think? Who’s really at fault here?

  1. It sounds like a really frustrating situation, and safety should always be the top priority in these scenarios. From what you’ve described, the superintendent clearly violated traffic laws by passing a stopped school bus with its stop sign and arm extended. According to those laws, drivers are required to stop for school buses in order to protect pedestrians, especially children crossing the street.

While the superintendent may argue about the designated pickup location, their duty to ensure the safety of pedestrians, particularly in the vicinity of a school bus, takes precedence. Given the circumstances, it seems that the superintendent is at fault for their reckless driving. It’s important to report this incident to the appropriate authorities to prevent future occurrences and to ensure safety for everyone involved.
