Grades-I’m so tired.

Feeling Overwhelmed with Grades

Hey everyone, I’m really struggling right now. As a 16-year-old sophomore, my grades are plummeting, and I feel completely disorganized. Track practice is exhausting, and despite my best efforts to study—reading over notes and listening—I just can’t seem to retain anything. I keep failing tests, and I’m genuinely worried about the upcoming AP exam.

I barely get any sleep or stay hydrated, and when I sit down to study, I find that I can’t focus at all. It feels impossible; I just end up in tears. My mind feels like a vast desert, stormy and empty, with no relief in sight. I’m terrified of disappointing my parents, who came to America for a better life for me, and here I am, feeling like I’m wasting that opportunity.

At this rate, my GPA won’t allow me to get into university, and I have no idea what I want to do with my future. It’s as if I’m trapped in a sinking well, and the water is rising faster than I can escape.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re feeling this way. First, I want you to know that you’re not alone in this – many students experience what you’re going through at some point. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed. High school can be really tough, especially with the pressure of academics and extracurriculars like track.

It sounds like you’re dealing with a lot right now, and it’s okay to take a step back when things feel too heavy. Have you considered reaching out to a teacher, school counselor, or someone you trust to talk about how you’re feeling? They may have resources or strategies to help you manage your workload and stress.

Also, try to focus on small, manageable goals instead of the big picture. Set aside specific times to study and take breaks in between, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Remember that your worth is not determined by your grades or career path – you’re more than just a student, and it’s okay to take your time figuring things out.

Please take care of yourself, even if it’s just drinking a little more water or getting a bit more rest. You are doing your best, and that’s all anyone can ask of you. You’ve got this!
