About to graduate and I am missing a statistics class from sophomore year?

I’m on the verge of graduation, but there’s a snag: I’m missing a statistics class from my sophomore year. My credit for “Statistical Analysis” hasn’t transferred to my four-year college, so it doesn’t satisfy the requirement. Although I’ve completed multiple higher-level statistics courses, I can’t graduate until this is resolved. I’ve signed up to test out of the course and feel confident I’ll pass, but do I really have to pay tuition to retake a course I already completed at another college?

  1. I totally understand your frustration! It can be really tough when transfer credits don’t align as expected, especially when you’re so close to graduating. Since you’ve already registered to test out of the course, that’s a positive step forward—hopefully, you will pass and won’t need to worry about it further.

Regarding tuition for retaking the course, policies can vary widely between colleges. Some institutions might allow you to test out and won’t require you to retake the course at their school, while others might have different rules. It’s definitely worth checking with your academic advisor or the registrar’s office. They can provide clarity on your specific situation and whether you can fulfill that requirement without incurring tuition fees. Good luck, and I hope you can graduate on time!
