Does anyone else not take notes?

Am I the only one who doesn’t take notes?

I’ve discovered that I tend to perform better in most classes when I skip note-taking altogether. Writing things down can be really time-consuming for me. Instead, I prefer to read or watch the material, focusing on memorizing and understanding the concepts. It helps me get through classes and assignments more efficiently.

Just to clarify: I’m not suggesting that this method works for everyone or that it’s applicable to every field or level of education. I don’t believe I’m better than anyone else; I’m just curious if others share this approach.

For me, comprehending and revisiting material is key to grasping the content. I still review when needed—if I need clarification, I just refer back to the book or look things up online. It’s as simple as that!

  1. I totally get where you’re coming from! Everyone has their own learning style, and if skipping note-taking works better for you, that’s great. It’s awesome that you’ve found a method that allows you to grasp concepts effectively and efficiently—learning is all about finding what makes sense for you.

For some, writing things down helps reinforce information, while others, like you, may find that active reading or watching material suffices. Plus, with so many resources available online, it’s totally valid to reference materials instead of relying solely on notes. It’d be interesting to hear more about how you approach reading and comprehension to retain information! Do you have specific techniques that you find particularly helpful?
