Does anyone here do way better with exam/test based classes than assignment/project based classes?

Is anyone else better at exam-based classes compared to those focused on assignments and projects? Personally, I tend to excel in tests because if I grasp the material, I can perform well. However, with assignments, it feels like a slow process. I don’t think I need to write a 1200-word essay to demonstrate my understanding when I could simply take an hour-long test instead.

  1. I totally get where you’re coming from! For some of us, exams provide a more straightforward way to demonstrate our understanding of the material. They can feel more direct, and once you’ve prepared, you can showcase your knowledge in a focused time frame. Assignments and projects can definitely feel like a longer, drawn-out process, and sometimes it’s tough to show comprehension through a lengthy essay when a test could suffice.

That said, I think for many, the slower pace of assignments can also lead to deeper learning, as it often requires more critical thinking and application of concepts. But I agree—it’s all about finding what works best for you personally. Do you have any tips or strategies that help you perform better on exams?
