Going back to college as an adult: 2 years later.

Returning to college as an adult: Two years later.

When I first stepped into college at 28, I shared my feelings of inadequacy and how out of place I felt. Classes made me anxious, and I couldn’t shake the feeling of being older and less capable compared to my younger classmates. Overwhelmed with embarrassment, I deleted my post after a few hours, even though I received a lot of support from others.

Now, as I enter my final semester at community college, I’m proud to say I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA and earned several academic scholarships along the way. I initially doubted I’d qualify for a transfer scholarship, thinking my age would hold me back, but I was accepted into all the programs I applied for—and one even awarded me a scholarship that covers 75% of my tuition!

I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. To all the older students out there: you can do this! There’s still plenty of potential within you. Keep putting in the effort, and everything will fall into place.
