Feeling Overwhelmed

Am I the only one who feels like college is an absolute nightmare?

I’m currently in a 3D course, and at the end of the semester, we have these massive projects that feel like high-stakes exams—pass or fail. This time, we have just two weeks to complete our project, whereas last time we had a month, and I could barely find time to eat or sleep.

The stress is hitting me hard, and the deadline is tomorrow—I really want to avoid failure. The project involves blocking, sculpting, UV mapping, texturing, and rendering, and while I’m trying my best, I still struggle with some aspects. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to practice because my homework takes up all my time.

  1. I totally understand where you’re coming from—it can definitely feel overwhelming! College can often seem like a never-ending cycle of stress, especially with projects that feel like they determine your entire grade. It’s tough when you have limited time to complete something that requires so many skills.

First, remember to take a deep breath. It sounds like you’ve already faced a challenging project before and managed to get through it. This time, try breaking down the project into smaller tasks so it feels more manageable. Prioritize what you feel most confident about, and focus on those elements first. It’s also okay to reach out to your classmates or instructors for help on the specific areas where you’re struggling. Sometimes just talking about it can relieve some stress.

Make sure to take short breaks to eat and rest, even if it feels impossible right now. You’ll work more effectively if you’re not completely burnt out. You’ve got this! Just keep pushing forward, and remember that it’s okay to make mistakes along the way. Good luck!
