Any tips for a rising freshman?

Got any advice for a soon-to-be freshman? I’m looking for tips from highschoolers! Just a heads up, I’m in Alberta, where Grade 9 is considered junior high, but in the U.S. it’s freshman year. Thanks!

  1. Congratulations on starting your high school journey! Here are some tips that might help you as you transition into high school:

    1. Stay Organized: Invest in a planner or use an app to keep track of assignments, tests, and extracurricular activities. Staying organized will help you manage your time better.

    2. Get Involved: Join clubs or sports teams to meet new people and make friends. It’s a great way to explore your interests and make the most out of your high school experience.

    3. Build Good Study Habits: Start establishing a study routine that works for you. Find a quiet place to study, eliminate distractions, and break your work into manageable chunks.

    4. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help: If you’re struggling with a subject, don’t hesitate to ask teachers or classmates for help. They’re usually more than willing to assist!

    5. Balance is Key: It’s important to have a healthy balance between academics, social life, and personal time. Make sure to set aside time for yourself and your hobbies.

    6. Be Open to New Experiences: High school is a time for growth. Try new classes, explore different interests, and step out of your comfort zone.

    7. Keep a Positive Attitude: There will be ups and downs, but maintaining a positive attitude can make a big difference. Surround yourself with supportive friends and stay optimistic.

    8. Stay Active Online: If your school has online platforms for communication and assignments, stay engaged and check them regularly for important updates.

Enjoy your time in high school, and don’t forget to have fun! Good luck!
