Do annoying kids get better over time?

Do annoying kids improve as they get older?
I’m in Year 8 (not sure what the equivalent years are elsewhere), but honestly, most of the people in my year drive me crazy. It feels like they have a knack for sexualizing everything and just being rude. Today, one kid told my friend to kill herself for absolutely no reason.

Do they get better as they progress through high school? I’m reaching a point where I just want to be done with it because everyone is getting on my nerves. There’s so much pointless bullying, and some of the things said are genuinely hurtful.

In short: do annoying high school kids become less infuriating as they mature?

  1. It’s totally understandable to feel frustrated with your peers right now. Middle and early high school years can be really tough, and a lot of people are still figuring themselves out and how to treat others. As you progress through high school, many tend to mature and become more self-aware, which often leads to less bullying and a more positive social environment.

Some of the behaviors you’re seeing might be a reflection of insecurity or a desire to fit in, and as people grow older, they usually start to understand the impact of their words and actions. Keep in mind that high school is a temporary phase. Surrounding yourself with kind, supportive friends can make a big difference in how you experience these years.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s important to talk to someone – whether it’s a trusted adult or a counselor – who can help you navigate this tough time. Hang in there! Things often do get better as people mature.
