Understanding GPA: A European Perspective

Hey everyone! I’m from Europe, where we typically use percentages or a point-based grading system. Our grades range from 1 to 5, with 1 being the best (equivalent to an A) and 5 being the worst (similar to an F).

I’ve recently learned about GPA and it seems to represent how well you’re doing on average. At the end of each semester, we receive our average grade, and mine was 1.92, which translates to about a B average for me.

I’m curious about how GPA really works. I might sound a bit clueless, but I’d love to know how to convert my average grade to a GPA. Is there a method for that? Thanks!
