Frustration with teachers who won’t allow bathroom breaks
Today, I almost found myself in a really uncomfortable situation. I drink a lot of water during the day, and during class with my new lab teacher (I think the previous one retired because she was over 70), I told her twice that I urgently needed to use the bathroom. Unfortunately, all she said was that she couldn’t let me go because the principal would be upset due to too many students leaving already. I had to insist one more time, and thankfully she finally let me go, but I wasn’t alone—many other kids in my class were also in the same predicament. It seems unfair that we can’t take care of basic needs during class.
That sounds really frustrating! It’s tough when teachers don’t understand how important it is to take breaks, especially when it comes to basic needs like using the bathroom. It’s not just about the rules; it’s about respecting students and their comfort. Hopefully, your lab teacher will be more understanding in the future, but it’s also important for schools to have policies that prioritize students’ needs. No one should feel like they might have an accident in class!
