I’m in a bit of a predicament! My teacher has assigned us to watch Emilia Perez, and to make matters worse, she actually liked it and wants us to write an essay about it. I’m really not looking forward to subjecting my classmates to what I consider a disaster. Any advice on how to handle this?

I feel bad for this kid
I really feel for this kid. During math class, our teacher was helping another student and bent down to assist him. Unfortunately, the kid sitting behind got an unintentional close-up view of the teacher’s backside—like, he was just inches away from seeing everything! As you can imagine, everyone started teasing him about it afterward.
It sounds like you’re really not looking forward to watching “Emilia Perez”! If you feel strongly about not enjoying the movie, you could approach your teacher and express your concerns. Maybe there’s a way to negotiate an alternative assignment or choose a different film to analyze? If that’s not an option, consider it an opportunity to form a critical opinion—watch it with an open mind and take notes on both what you don’t like and any redeeming qualities you might find. This could give you a unique perspective for your essay. You might surprise yourself! Good luck!
