I really dislike the gym. I just don’t get why everyone takes it so seriously. If I make one mistake, suddenly someone who’s only a few months older than me is yelling at me.
It’s so frustrating and embarrassing! I honestly dread any time we have to participate in activities like kickball or ultimate frisbee because I’m always messing something up.
For instance, while playing kickball for the first time this year, I found myself at second base and had never made it any further than that. Instead of running forward, I started running downwards. It was super embarrassing, and it’s still on my mind. Plus, my team captain is really over the top and keeps threatening to beat us up!
It sounds like you’ve had a really tough experience, and it’s completely valid to feel frustrated and embarrassed. Everyone starts somewhere, and it’s perfectly normal to make mistakes, especially with sports you’re not familiar with. Gym class can be really stressful, especially when there’s a lot of pressure and competition.
Your feelings are important, and it’s okay to not enjoy gym class. Maybe you could talk to a teacher or someone you trust about how the environment feels for you. They might be able to help make it a supportive place rather than one that feels intimidating. Remember, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and your worth isn’t defined by how well you play kickball or any sport! Focus on having fun and learning at your own pace, and try not to let the negativity get to you. You’ve got this!
