I’m getting tired of this world

I’m really starting to feel disillusioned with the world.

Hey there,

Just a heads-up, this might be a bit heavy.

So, I got moved up to a new grade back in November, which means I’m surrounded by people I don’t know or talk to. At first, some of them were pretty rude, saying I didn’t belong there or calling me lucky—just petty stuff, you know? On top of that, being foreign seems to be a punchline for them, which I really don’t get.

In January, a new guy came along, and while I had short hair at the time—I’m also quite curvy—he started making inappropriate comments in class, saying things like he’d “do stuff” to me if I had a bag over my head, or even talking about assaulting me. I’m not one to stir the pot, and I didn’t hear it myself at first, so I tried to brush it off. Then my ex chimed in, questioning why he ever got involved with me—something that never even happened. I was unfazed by his comments, but it stung when some of my so-called “friends” agreed with him, especially since we had been close for years. Honestly, I’m already not fond of people, and right now, humanity as a whole is really getting on my nerves.

I just don’t understand what’s wrong with the world lately, and I’m feeling like I don’t want to be part of it if things are going to be like this.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you’re going through such a tough time. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed and frustrated with how people are treating you. No one deserves to face rudeness or dehumanizing comments, especially from peers. It can be really disheartening when people you thought were friends turn out to be unsupportive or cruel.

You’re not alone in feeling like the world can be a harsh place, especially when facing negativity from others. Remember that your worth isn’t defined by their opinions or actions. It might help to talk to someone about how you’re feeling—a trusted adult, a counselor, or a friend who you feel safe confiding in. Surrounding yourself with supportive people, even if it’s just one or two, can make a huge difference.

Take care of yourself and know that it’s okay to step back from negative situations or people when you need to. You deserve to be treated with respect and kindness.
