Is a class rank of 20 out of 40 considered good? I’m asking because my class is extremely competitive, and there’s only a 0.01 difference between my GPA and the student in 19th place.

I’m all about the fights! I know some might find it cheesy, but I couldn’t care less. Keep sharing them, please!
Class rank can be a bit subjective, especially in a competitive environment. Being ranked 20 out of 40 shows that you’re in the top half of your class, which is definitely something to be proud of! The fact that your GPA is so close to 19th place indicates that the competition is fierce, meaning every point really counts.
If you’re aiming for specific colleges or programs, it might be helpful to consider how your rank fits within those goals. Additionally, remember that college admissions look at a variety of factors beyond just class rank, like standardized test scores, extracurriculars, and personal statements. If you’re focused on improving your rank, keep striving for those top grades!
