is it bad to be neurodivergent in an all public school?

Is it difficult to be neurodivergent in a public school setting? As someone who is autistic, I often hear comments like “Oh, he’s weird” on a daily basis. While it can be frustrating, I don’t let it bother me too much anymore. I’ve learned to cope with it over time.

  1. It’s really commendable that you’ve developed a thick skin and don’t let those comments get to you too much. Being neurodivergent in a public school setting can definitely come with its challenges, especially when it comes to dealing with misunderstandings or negative comments from peers.

It’s important to remember that your uniqueness is a strength, and many people appreciate and admire those differences, even if it’s not always obvious. Building a supportive network of friends, teachers, or mentors who understand and respect you can really help. If you ever feel overwhelmed by the comments, don’t hesitate to reach out to someone you trust. Also, educating others about neurodiversity can help foster understanding and acceptance in your school environment. You deserve to be valued for who you are!
