I just got caught by my school’s track coach smoking weed in the track closet with a friend. How bad is this going to be for me?

To give you some context, I’m still a bit high as I write this. It’s around 10:00 p.m., and about an hour and a half ago, my friend and I decided to smoke in the school’s track closet, thinking we were in the clear this Friday night.

We had no idea that the track team was coming back from an away game. When they returned, the coach opened the closet with a bus full of students behind him, ready to put away equipment.

He told me I need to inform my mom and have her call him, or he’ll reach out to her first on Monday.

I’m still in disbelief and struggling to process this. It feels like something out of a bad dream.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of punishments I might face? Is my academic and athletic future ruined?
