My teacher fainted & fell off a desk in front of my friend and I?

Title: My Teacher Fainted in Front of Us—And I’m Concerned

Summary: My teacher fainted on purpose and could have put my friend and me in danger if either of us had fainted.

EDIT: I shared this with my parents, but they just laughed it off as a funny story.

So yesterday, I (14F) was helping younger students in the classroom with my friend (15F), and it was just the two of us with our female history teacher. Out of the blue, she jumped up and cheerfully asked, “Do you want to try a breathing exercise?” With nothing else to do but homework, we decided to join in. She first timed how long we could hold our breath, and I managed to last 1 minute 19 seconds, the longest of us all! Then, she led us through the actual breathing exercise, which left me feeling dizzy, almost like when you stand up too fast. My palms got sweaty, and I started feeling uneasy.

After we finished the exercise the second time, something really strange happened. The teacher suddenly FAINTED, rolling off the desk and hitting the floor with enough force to bend a table leg. At first, my friend and I thought she was joking, but when she didn’t get up after a few seconds, we started to panic. It was only when she stood up, rubbing her head and swearing, that we realized this was serious.

To our shock, she smiled and asked, “Wow, how long was I out?” Stunned, I asked if she had really fainted, and she confirmed it. Then, she casually strolled back to her desk, grinning, and said, “I’ve been wanting to try that for ages!”

I’m honestly worried—is my teacher okay? What if my friend or I had fainted instead? Apparently, she’s done this with other students too when they were alone with her. Should I report this to someone? This doesn’t seem right…

  1. It sounds like you had a really intense and confusing experience with your teacher. Fainting, even if it seems playful or intentional, can be very serious, and it’s understandable that you’re feeling concerned. The fact that she has done this with other students raises even more red flags, as it could create a dangerous situation for everyone involved.

It’s important to prioritize your safety and the safety of others. If you’re feeling uneasy about this behavior, it might be a good idea to talk to a trusted adult, like a school counselor or another teacher. They can help you assess the situation and determine if any action needs to be taken. Your feelings are valid, and it’s better to be cautious, especially when it comes to health and safety. Take care of yourself and don’t hesitate to speak up about your concerns!

Teachers, I am PLEADING with you to turn the heat up.

Dear Teachers, I kindly urge you to turn up the heat in the classroom. If that’s not an option, please consider dialing back the cold air. It only serves to distract us as we mentally grumble about the chill and daydream about cozy blankets and hot cocoa. I can’t help but think that this affects […]
