Our computers for grades 6-8 and 9-12 are getting confiscated. Here’s the background on the situation: our principal discovered that some students were using VPNs to access restricted websites. They created separate Google accounts and installed VPN extensions to get around the restrictions. While the principal didn’t seem overly concerned initially, things took a turn when a middle school student decided to watch inappropriate content on a school computer. It’s hard to believe that anyone could be so careless. I initially thought the confiscation was to track down who installed the VPN, but there’s more to the story that’s a bit too disturbing to share. Ultimately, our computers are being taken away because one irresponsible student made a poor choice.

I’ve known this girl since first grade, but we never really talked in middle school or high school. This year, things have taken a weird turn. Math is hard
Math can be really challenging. I’m a freshman in an American high school and overall, my grades are looking pretty good—I have mostly A’s and B’s. I feel like I have a decent grasp of my subjects, but Algebra 1 is proving to be a struggle. It’s the only class where I don’t quite get […]
It sounds like a frustrating situation for everyone involved. It’s unfortunate that the actions of a few students can lead to consequences for all. Hopefully, the school can come up with a better way to handle this issue and teach students about responsible internet use. It’s sad that some kids don’t think about the potential repercussions of their actions. Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call for everyone to be more mindful about how they use school resources!
