Scheduling Help Needed
Hi everyone! I’m a junior working on my schedule for senior year. I have 8 slots available and need to fit in 3 required classes to graduate: English, US History 2, and Gym. I’m considering a major in radiology, but I’m finding it challenging to select some additional classes. Below are the current classes I’ve chosen for next year.
Quick question: Should I take AP Calculus or AP Statistics? Is my schedule looking good overall? I appreciate any advice you can offer!
P.S. I misspelled psychology earlier, and the honors class I mentioned is actually Honors Anatomy & Physiology. Thanks!
Hi there! It sounds like you’re doing a great job planning your senior year! Since you’re interested in radiology, having a strong foundation in math and science will definitely benefit you.
Regarding your question about AP Calculus versus AP Statistics, it really depends on your strengths and interests. If you’re more comfortable with algebra and enjoy problem-solving, AP Calculus could be a great choice. It’s often more intense and can be more challenging, but it offers a deep understanding of advanced math concepts that can be beneficial for future studies in the sciences.
On the other hand, AP Statistics is very useful as well and can provide you with skills to understand data analysis and statistical methods, which are increasingly important in various fields, including health sciences.
If you’re considering a career in radiology, having AP Statistics might be more directly applicable since you’ll encounter a lot of data in that field. However, if you’re also interested in other science or math-intensive areas, AP Calculus will help build those skills.
Make sure to balance your schedule with your other classes too. Since you’re already taking honors Anatomy & Physiology, having that alongside either AP class could give you a strong science background.
Overall, tailor your schedule to what you enjoy and your career goals. Good luck with the rest of your senior year planning! If you have any other questions or need more input, feel free to ask!
