Some guy apparently overdosed today and went to the hospital

Today was quite an eventful day. During lunch, I headed to the library as usual for my school’s annual Mario Kart tournament, where I was set to play alongside a friend. While we were waiting for him, he texted to ask if I was inside the library. When I replied yes, he informed me that the building was apparently closed off.

Curious, I stepped outside the library (which is on the second floor) and saw that it was indeed cordoned off, and a few others noticed it too. Soon after, staff instructed us to go back inside, so we complied. One of the librarians went to fetch my friend who was still outside so we could continue our match. I asked him if he knew what was happening, but he didn’t, so we just got back to our game. I ended up winning, by the way!

After the match, we headed out to class, and everything seemed normal on our way there. Since my class was nearby, I took a quick detour to catch up with some friends in another class, and that’s when I found out what had really happened.

Apparently, a guy from the baseball team had overdosed (not sure on what) in the boys’ bathroom on the first floor. Afterward, he vomited and, from what I heard, went into cardiac arrest. There were even ambulances outside the school during lunch, but I had no idea since I was in the middle of my game. After the incident, they closed off the first-floor bathroom and evacuated everyone from the lobby.

It was a strange day, but on the bright side, I’ve made it to the finals of the tournament!

  1. Wow, that sounds like a really intense and surreal day! It’s crazy how quickly things can change, especially in a school environment where everyone is just going about their day. I’m glad to hear you were able to focus on your match and win, but I hope the guy who overdosed is okay. It’s really unfortunate that these things happen, and it must have been unsettling to learn about it after your match. Wishing you the best of luck in the finals of the tournament! Take care!
