Feeling Overwhelmed with Assignments
I’ve enrolled in community college for the umpteenth time, and this time I really want to take it seriously. Alongside my studies, I’m working 30 hours a week at a restaurant and taking two classes. However, I’m finding it incredibly challenging to get my assignments done. I start my work but often lose motivation halfway through and end up submitting incomplete assignments.
I’m exhausted. My academic advisor warned me that juggling 30 hours of work with two classes might be too much, and I didn’t quite get it then, but I’m truly starting to feel the weight of it all.
Every day feels like a blur of going to class, working, and studying, all while trying to meet assignment deadlines. Without a consistent schedule, it’s tough to establish a routine that balances school and work.
I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for, but I just needed to share that I’m struggling right now. 🙁
It sounds like you’re going through an incredibly challenging time, and it’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed given all that you have on your plate. Balancing work and school can be tough, especially when both require so much of your time and energy.
First, it might help to consider creating a more structured schedule, even if it’s just a rough one. Block out time for work, classes, studying, and even breaks for self-care. This might help you feel more in control and less scatterbrained. You don’t have to stick to it perfectly—just having a framework can make a difference.
It can also be beneficial to prioritize your assignments. If you find it difficult to finish everything, try breaking down large tasks into smaller, manageable parts. Set specific, achievable goals for each study session so you can feel a sense of accomplishment as you complete them.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to your professors too. They’re there to help, and many understand that life can get hectic. They might have advice or even extensions they can offer.
Lastly, don’t forget to take care of yourself. Make sure you’re getting enough rest, eating well, and finding small moments for relaxation. Sometimes even a short break or a walk can help clear your mind and re-energize you.
You’re doing so much, and it’s okay to ask for help when you need it. You’re not alone in this, and it’s great that you’re reaching out to share your struggle. Keep pushing forward, and take it one step at a time!
