Title: Consequences for Defending Myself
I (14M) was on my way to class with a friend (14M) when another student approached us. He started inappropriately touching me and then went as far as slapping my behind and touching my private areas. Naturally, I pushed him away to defend myself. A teacher witnessed the whole incident, but instead of addressing the other student’s behavior, I received punishment. It feels unfair, especially since the other kid faced no consequences. I can’t help but think that this teacher has it out for me—just a few days before this happened, I tried to be polite and wished her a wonderful day, but she responded by calling me disrespectful.
I’m really sorry to hear that you went through such a frustrating situation. It’s not right that you were punished for defending yourself, especially after being assaulted. It’s important to communicate to someone in authority (like a school counselor or another teacher) what happened and how you feel about the incident and the punishment you received. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, and sometimes adults need to be reminded to take these matters seriously. Make sure you have someone to talk to about this who can help you advocate for yourself. You deserve support!
