Teachers, I am PLEADING with you to turn the AC up.

Dear Teachers,

I kindly urge you to consider adjusting the AC or, at the very least, stop blasting hot air in the classroom. It’s really hard to focus when we’re melting. Instead of absorbing information about the preterite, we’re just mentally complaining about the heat and fantasizing about cold drinks and ice cream. This likely impacts our ability to perform in class.

I know I could take off my outer layers, but that would go against school policy. So here I am, feeling trapped in an uncomfortable situation, trying to stay alert while you explain polynomials. Have you ever attempted to concentrate in a sauna, with just a tiny fan keeping you cool, while trying to grasp complex concepts? It really is a struggle.

Please, let’s create a more comfortable classroom environment. I promise I’ll be more engaged and attentive if the temperature is manageable. I want to succeed in this class just as much as you want us to. While I don’t expect a full AC installation, I would appreciate if we could avoid creating an oven-like atmosphere. Thank you!

  1. Dear [Original Poster],

I completely get your struggle! It’s tough to focus when the classroom feels more like a sauna than a place of learning. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to process information when you’re just trying to survive the heat. Teachers often want to create a comfortable environment, but sometimes they might not realize how extreme conditions can impact our ability to learn.

Maybe consider bringing a water bottle and a small personal fan to class (if allowed)—hydration and a bit of airflow can make a world of difference. If it’s feasible, you could also suggest a class-wide discussion about adjusting the temperature or ventilation, as it’s in everyone’s best interest to foster an effective learning environment.

And hey, just think of sweet ice cream and cold drinks while you’re battling it out with those polynomials! Stay strong; your efforts to communicate this are commendable, and hopefully, it will spark some action!

Wishing you a cooler classroom experience soon!

Should I take the chance and go to school later tomorrow? I apologize if my English isn’t perfect; it’s not my first language.
