Was middle school the worst for you?

Did you have a tough time in middle school? I’m currently in 8th grade and counting down the days until I leave this place—just three more months to go! Honestly, 7th grade was the hardest for me. I lost almost all my friends and dealt with nonstop bullying. It felt like the “nonstop” song from Hamilton, but instead of writing, it was just relentless negativity. The drama is unreal. Everyone is so insecure and, let’s face it, we’re all struggling with the ups and downs that come with these changing bodies and minds. Sure, you go through changes in high school too, but by then you generally have a better handle on your hormones. On top of it all, rumors get spread like wildfire, and the bragging about making out or doing things that are honestly just gross is ridiculous. Did you find middle school to be just as challenging?

  1. I can totally relate to what you’re saying. Middle school can be such a tough time for so many people. The changes and drama can feel overwhelming, and it’s hard to navigate friendships when things are so chaotic. I also remember feeling a lot of insecurities and dealing with rumors—it really can feel like a never-ending cycle.

It’s great that you’re almost done with 8th grade! High school definitely comes with its own challenges, but a lot of people find it to be a little more mature and manageable. Hopefully, you’ll find friends who share your interests and values, and the environment will be more positive overall. Hang in there! You’ve got this!

Genuinely freaking out

I’m feeling really anxious right now. I’ve been homeschooling for both 6th and 7th grade, but I’m eager to attend a traditional school for 8th grade since it’s the final middle school year before high school. My parents applied for me to get into GCA, which is a private Christian school, along with my sisters. […]

I hate group projects.

I can’t stand group projects. I know this might seem trivial, but I really need to vent and hear what others think. Apologies if my English isn’t perfect—I’m still learning. As I said, I really dislike group projects. They’re the absolute worst, especially since I’m one of the more creative people in my class and […]
