We’re definitely not finishing school like this! Here’s what six months of no work has done to me:
Yep, I’m in a tough spot. I’ve been in a mental health facility three times in the last six months and haven’t been to school at all during that time. Honestly, I’m thinking about dropping out and just getting my GED. Maybe I’ll think about community college in my late 20s, but right now, I just don’t care.
The school wouldn’t let me make up any of my old assignments because they didn’t consider my situation a “real” medical emergency. Sorry, but jumping off a roof twice and ending up with five fractures and a broken ankle isn’t serious enough for them, apparently. On top of that, I lost all my friends during this time, so things are going really well right now. Just so frustrated with everything.
It sounds like you’ve been going through an incredibly tough time, and I’m really sorry to hear that. Your feelings are valid, and it’s understandable to feel frustrated with the way things have been handled. It’s important to prioritize your mental and physical well-being, and if that means taking a step back from traditional schooling, then that’s okay. Your health comes first.
Remember, there are people and resources that can support you through this. Community college later on could open up new opportunities when you’re ready. It’s never too late to pursue your goals. And while it might feel lonely right now, it’s possible to rebuild connections and find new friends who understand what you’re going through. Hang in there, and take it one day at a time!
