What does class rank mean? I just received my transcript, and my GPA is approximately 3.78. It states that my class rank is 1 out of 575. Can anyone explain what this means? I’ve looked it up, but I’m finding a lot of contradictory information.

I’m baffled by how some of you are able to take AP classes as freshmen or maintain a 2.0 GPA while enrolled in four AP courses. Are there no prerequisites at your school? At mine, you have to complete specific prerequisite classes and achieve good grades in them to qualify for AP classes.
