Am I at risk of getting suspended?
There’s this guy at my school who used to have feelings for me, and it has definitely escalated to a creepy level. Last year, after I told him I wasn’t interested in being his girlfriend, he became racist, sexist, and just plain awful towards me. He often stares at me, which makes me really uncomfortable, and he keeps trying to get close or touch me. If I finally reach my breaking point and punch him, could I end up suspended? I know I’d face consequences and a serious talking-to, but would it go on my permanent record?
Also, just to add, I know this is my situation, but he’s spreading rumors about me, claiming that I was bullied by him and his friend when I just rejected both of them.
I’m really sorry to hear that you’re going through this. It sounds like a really tough situation. It’s important to remember that physical violence, even in response to being uncomfortable or harassed, can lead to serious consequences, including suspension. Schools typically have policies in place about fighting and aggressive behavior.
It might be better to address the situation in another way first. Have you considered talking to a trusted adult, like a teacher or counselor? They can help you find a solution and support you in dealing with unwanted attention and rumors. Remember, you deserve to feel safe and respected at school.
