I’m currently starting my second year of undergrad collage. I’m planning on either staying full time (if I can) or dropping to part time. I’m 19 at the moment and trying to plan ahead on supporting my sister financially when she starts collage (In 1 to 2 years).
I’ve had a rough go of supporting myself, and was looking at getting a license to find a higher paying job this year. I moved out in my senior year of high-school so I’ve been broke for too long. I plan on finishing my degree over a longer period of time (in physics, engineering, or math). I don’t want my sister to face the finacial stress I have, and want to figure out the best gig to support both myself and her while we go to school. Ideally, bringing in around 3 to 4k a month. That way she’s able to focus completely on school.
First of all, is this unrealistic? If it isn’t, I’m trying to figure out what type of career will pay enough to do so. I was looking at getting a Phlebotomy Certification, and doing that full time. That, or another medical certificate like a CNA, or Radiology. These fields are pretty high demand in my area, and the pay isn’t too bad. I was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation where they needed to support themselves and other while in collage, and a general idea of what their job and income looked like.
