Hi all. My commencement is next week, but I know absolutely zero of the students who will be attending. Is it still worthwhile to go, or should I just pass?

I go to one of Purdue’s campuses technically, but ALL of my coursework has been totally online. The only people I’ve met in person are a couple of professors. I’ve worked with a few fellow students in group work, but that didn’t happen often and likely none of those students are apart of my graduating class. As such, I feel that attending could be immensely awkward. Also, my bachelor’s degree is in integrated (general) studies, and after hearing some people speak quite negatively about such a degree, I’m not super convinced that it’s all that much of an achievement.

If this isn’t the right type of subreddit to post this in, I apologize. Thank you to everyone who provides input.

On a side note, I want to congratulate all of you who like myself are graduating with their degrees this month.

Edit: I should make an important distinction — I have *never* participated in a graduation ceremony; I dropped out of high school. A couple years later, I took and passed a GED test, but did not attend any ceremony related to it.
