Going into my Junior year as a autistic girlie (CLASS OF 2027)

Preparing for a Successful Junior Year: Tips and Strategies for High School Students

As a dedicated student entering my junior year of high school (Class of 2027), I want to share some thoughts and seek advice from fellow students and educators about making the most of this pivotal year.

Summer Break and Academic Goals

With summer vacation underway, I’m committed to making productive use of this time to prepare for the challenges ahead. My previous year was quite demanding, especially in chemistry, which unfortunately impacted my GPA—dropping from a 3.8 to 3.7. My goal now is to bounce back academically and excel during my junior year by focusing on effective study routines and personal growth.

Standardized Test Preparation: ACT or SAT?

I’m currently undecided whether to focus on preparing for the ACT or SAT. I have strong skills in English and science but find math more challenging. Any insights into which test aligns better with my strengths, along with targeted study tips—particularly for Algebra 2—would be greatly appreciated.

Academic Schedule and Future Plans

Here’s a tentative overview of my planned courses for the upcoming year:

  • Algebra 2 Honors
  • Anatomy and Physiology Honors
  • AP English Composition
  • AP U.S. History
  • Career & Life Planning
  • Personal Finance & Management
  • Practical Nursing Foundations I (twice)

My aspirations are to enter the medical field, aiming to graduate high school with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and earn two certifications—Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a second certification of my choosing (either EKG or Certified Medical Assistant).

Seeking Advice and Encouragement

If you have tips on balancing coursework, preparing for admissions tests, or pursuing certifications, I’d love to hear them. Additionally, any motivational advice for staying resilient and productive through this busy period would mean a lot.

Thank you all, and wishing everyone the best of luck in their academic endeavors!
