Overcoming Academic Challenges: Preparing for Summer Exams Under Pressure
As the summer exam season approaches, many students find themselves facing significant hurdles, and I am no exception. After a challenging academic journey, I am preparing to undertake my second year at college—this time through a summer course aimed at elevating my GPA and ensuring I stay on track for graduation.
Due to health and mental health concerns, I was unable to attend classes during the regular academic year, which has made my current situation more complex. My college, located outside my hometown, has kindly provided an opportunity to pass the year by achieving a higher cumulative GPA—my current GPA stands at 1.552, with a target of at least 1.67.
With only 60 days left and nine credit hours of coursework remaining, I am seeking advice and motivation. Most of these subjects are related to mathematics and computer science, fields in which I admit I am unfamiliar and uncertain about how to study effectively. Historically, I haven’t been someone who studies in a traditional manner, which adds to my worries.
Given this context, I am asking myself: Is it possible to prepare adequately within this timeframe? How many subjects should I focus on, and what strategies should I adopt to maximize my chances of success? Most importantly, can I rise to this challenge and achieve my goal?
To anyone who has faced similar circumstances or has expertise in rapid academic recovery, your insights and encouragement would be invaluable. With determination and the right approach, I believe it’s possible to turn this situation around. Here’s to making the most of these next few weeks and proving that perseverance can lead to success.
