Understanding the Impact of Single-Gender Spaces on Gender Diversity Inclusion: A Student’s Inquiry
As a Year 12 student undertaking a major project for my Society and Culture course, I am exploring the increasing divide in homosocial environments and the implications this has for gender-diverse individuals. This research aims to shed light on how single-gender spaces—such as sports teams, scouting groups, youth organizations, religious groups, and similar settings—affect the inclusion and accessibility for people of all gender identities.
I invite individuals from all backgrounds to participate in a brief survey designed to gather perspectives on this important issue. Rest assured, no personal information such as names or emails is collected. The survey includes questions about gender, country, and age group, with the goal of understanding diverse experiences across different demographics.
My hope is to include voices from those who are part of or have experienced participation in single-gender groups, especially gender-diverse and transgender individuals. Your insights are especially valuable given the limited responses I have received so far.
Additionally, I am eager to offer support to others working on similar research topics. Should you need assistance with your own surveys or require advice on selecting subjects or navigating high school research projects, I am more than willing to help. I am passionate about this subject and have completed my coursework in less than a month, making me eager to collaborate and share knowledge.
