Overcoming Graduation Obstacles: Seeking Solutions for Final Credit Completion
Navigating the final stretch toward graduation can be challenging, especially when unexpected hurdles arise. Recently, I encountered a situation where I am just one credit shy of earning my degree. Despite my efforts to catch up on coursework, my school has been uncooperative, complicating my path to graduation.
My journey has been anything but smooth. During my freshman year, I faced multiple hospital stays, which led me to complete some of my coursework remotely from the hospital. Unfortunately, my transcript was ultimately mishandled by the school. To rectify this, I enrolled in double classes and worked tirelessly over the summer to ensure my credits are properly aligned.
Now, as I approach my senior year, I find myself needing only a single credit to graduate. The reality is pressing—I need to secure employment to support myself and my family. However, the school’s recent policy changes have made this more complicated. They have discontinued their work leave program, and despite my efforts to complete coursework online or in person, they insist on filling my schedule with classes I have already completed or no longer require.
This situation leaves me searching for alternative strategies to fulfill my graduation requirements without sacrificing my ability to work and support my loved ones. I am reaching out for advice on how to navigate this impasse, whether through academic pathways, administrative channels, or other creative solutions.
If you’ve faced similar challenges or have suggestions on how to effectively address these barriers, I would appreciate your insights. Balancing educational commitments with financial responsibilities is tough—finding a way forward is essential.
