Submitted my master thesis a couple of days ago and I’ve noticed some mistakes.

Publishing your master’s thesis is a significant milestone, often accompanied by a mix of pride and relief. In my recent experience submitting my thesis, I discovered some formatting mistakes that I overlooked during the final rush. For example, I noticed a discrepancy in my table of contents where the numbering jumped unexpectedly—from section 1.3 directly to 1.3.2—despite the actual section titles being correctly numbered in the document. It seems the table of contents didn’t update properly, which is a common hiccup when making last-minute edits. Additionally, I forgot to italicize the titles in my references and made a minor typo in another citation.

These errors, though seemingly minor, lead me to wonder about their potential impact on my graduation. The core content of my thesis is well-polished, and I dedicated most of my effort to ensure its quality. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and the pressure of last-minute work—exacerbated by my ADHD—I made the formatting oversights in a rush just hours before the deadline. Now, I’m facing a wave of panic, especially since corrections might no longer be possible at this stage.

As a 25-year-old aspiring graduate, the thought of delaying my progress is daunting. I need to graduate next week to move forward in my personal and professional life. Despite these last-minute setbacks, I remind myself that perfection isn’t always possible under pressure. Sometimes, focusing on the core content and overall quality can carry more weight than perfect formatting.

For students in similar situations, remember that small errors—while frustrating—rarely define your academic accomplishments. If you’re facing tight deadlines, do your best to review what truly matters and accept that minor oversights happen. If there’s an opportunity to rectify issues post-submission, consider reaching out to your advisor or department for guidance.
