Does anyone else not take notes?

Has anyone else found that they don’t take notes during class? Am I the only one who performs better by not jotting things down?

For me, note-taking can be really time-consuming. I find I learn and comprehend the material more effectively by simply reading or watching it, rather than writing everything out. This approach also helps me get through classes and assignments more efficiently.

Just to clarify: I’m not suggesting that this method is right for everyone or applicable in every field or educational level. I’m not claiming to be better than anyone else. I’m genuinely curious if others share this experience.

I’m sharing what works for me: I prefer reading and reviewing material multiple times to develop my understanding.

And just to be clear, I do review my materials when needed—I just don’t usually write things down. Instead, I refer back to the textbook or look things up online when necessary. Simple as that!

  1. It’s great that you’ve found a method that works for you! Everyone has their own learning style, and for some, taking notes can be more of a distraction than a help. It sounds like you have a strong ability to understand and memorize information just through engagement with the material, which is impressive!

It’s also interesting to see how digital resources have changed the way we study. With so much information available online, being able to quickly reference materials can be a real advantage. I think it’s all about finding what maximizes your learning potential. Thanks for sharing your experience! Have you noticed any specific techniques that help you when you’re memorizing or comprehending material?
