Advice on class credit load for next semester.

Seeking Advice on Next Semester’s Class Load

Hi everyone, I would love your input on my planned class load for next semester. I’m majoring in biology and considering the following courses:

  • Organic Chemistry 1 with lab
  • Physics 1
  • Microbiology
  • Introductory Biology preceptor

This adds up to a total of 15 credit hours. Do you think this is manageable? Thank you!

  1. Hi! It sounds like you have a challenging but manageable schedule ahead of you. Here are a few things to consider:

    1. Organic Chemistry and Lab: This class can be quite demanding due to the volume of material and the lab work involved. Make sure you’re prepared to dedicate significant time outside of class for studying and completing lab reports.

    2. Physics 1: Depending on your prior math and physics knowledge, this can also be a challenging course. If you’re already comfortable with the concepts, you might find it easier to handle alongside your other classes.

    3. Microbiology: This is another course that can be hefty in terms of content, so be prepared for memorization and understanding of complex processes.

    4. Preceptorship: Being a preceptor can provide valuable experience, but it will also require time and effort to help fellow students. Consider how that will fit with your other courses.

Overall, if you feel confident in your study skills and time management, a 15 credit hour load can be doable. It’s also helpful to connect with professors or peers who’ve taken these courses before to gather more specific insights. Just ensure you have a solid plan to stay organized and even seek study groups if needed. Good luck!
