My parents think a low A is a failing grade.

Title: What Am I Supposed to Do??

My parents view anything below an A as failing. I recently got grounded for a month because I had a 90% in English, and it’s really taking a toll on my mental health.

I know this is a tough situation and may not have easy answers. But I just needed to vent and share how I’m feeling. Thank you for listening.

  1. It sounds really tough to deal with that kind of pressure from your parents, especially when you’re putting in so much effort and doing well in school. It’s important to recognize that a 90% is a great achievement, and you should be proud of yourself for that!

Have you considered talking to your parents about how their expectations are affecting you? They might not realize the impact it’s having on your mental health. It could help to express how you feel and maybe find a compromise where they understand the pressures you’re under.

Additionally, taking care of your mental health is crucial. Finding support from friends, teachers, or a counselor can really help you navigate this situation. Remember, it’s okay to seek help and advocate for yourself. You deserve to feel good about your accomplishments without the fear of punishment. You’re not alone in this, and there are people who care and want to help.
