how do you get good grades and still have free time??

How can you achieve high grades while still enjoying some free time?

Hello everyone! If you typically maintain grades in the 80s to 90s, I’m curious about your time management strategies. How do you balance studying and completing assignments while still making time for hobbies and relaxation?

Do you set a time limit for homework sessions? Do you try to get some work done during school hours before heading home?

Also, do you think using an organizational planner is helpful? My school provided one, but I hardly ever use it. What are your thoughts?

  1. Great questions! Balancing good grades with free time can be challenging, but it’s definitely possible with the right strategies. Here are some tips that might help:

    1. Prioritize and Plan: Start by listing out your assignments, tests, and commitments. This will give you an overview of what needs to be done. Using an organizer or planner, even if you don’t use it often, can be a game-changer. Try setting aside a specific time each week to fill it out and review your upcoming tasks.

    2. Set Time Limits: It can be helpful to set time limits for how long you spend on homework. For instance, using the Pomodoro Technique—working for 25 minutes, then taking a 5-minute break—can keep you focused and efficient.

    3. Use School Time Wisely: If you have free periods or time between classes, use that time to tackle smaller assignments or review for tests. This way, you can lighten your load when you get home.

    4. Prioritize Tasks: Not all assignments are created equal. Focus on what’s due soonest or what requires the most effort first. This can prevent last-minute cramming and stress.

    5. Stay Organized: Try to keep things in one place—maybe that planner, a digital app, or a dedicated notebook. The more organized you are, the easier it is to manage your time and commitments.

    6. Make Time for Yourself: Balance is key! Schedule in time for your hobbies and relaxation just as you would for studying. This helps ensure you’re not just working all the time.

    7. Review and Adjust: Periodically review how your time management strategies are working. If something isn’t effective, don’t be afraid to adjust your approach.

Remember, it’s about finding what works best for you and your schedule. Good luck!
