Since the school year ended/ it’s about to end, what do you rate all of your classes? I’ll go first

Reflecting on the End of the School Year: A Candid Review of My Classes

As the academic year draws to a close, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the experiences and challenges faced across different classes. Here’s a personal overview of my courses, highlighting the highs, lows, and everything in between.

Environmental Science – 7/10
This class was relatively straightforward, and I appreciated the teacher’s approach. However, my group was challenging to collaborate with; they often refused to communicate, which made projects more difficult than they needed to be. Additionally, spending hours on assignments only for them to go ungraded was frustrating, leaving my grade just shy of the top marks. Despite these issues, I enjoyed the subject matter.

Geometry – 7.5/10
Geometry was enjoyable, mainly due to a great teacher and manageable coursework. Unfortunately, a disruptive group dynamic affected the class atmosphere, with some classmates disregarding attention and creating difficulties. As a result, the teacher’s perception of the period was negatively impacted, leading to many students struggling or resorting to dishonesty during assessments. Despite these hurdles, I finished with an A and hope that Algebra 2 will be similarly manageable.

World History – 3/10
This course was quite disappointing; it heavily relied on computer-based work rather than direct instruction. The grading system was intense, requiring nearly perfect test scores to maintain grades, which added pressure. Most students found the repetitive tasks boring and didn’t engaged much. I completed the course with a high B but was left dissatisfied. If US History proves similarly uninspiring, I might consider it a significant challenge.

Lunchtime – 5.5/10
Lunch was often dull, especially since I didn’t have friends at my new school after transferring post-freshman year. Still, it was a decent opportunity to catch up on homework or relax quietly.

Advanced Art – 0/10
This was undoubtedly the worst class of the year. I finished Semester 1 with a C—a first in high school—raising concerns about college prospects. The workload was intense, requiring many all-nighters to meet deadlines. Semester 2 wasn’t much better, though slightly improved, but I still ended with a B. Most classmates struggled to complete their projects, and I’m relieved to be done with it. I preferred my earlier art classes and my freshman year teacher.

Advisory – 6/10
It was a rather dull period, although I liked
