Understanding the Impact of Single-Gender Spaces on Gender Diversity and Inclusion
As part of my final year project for Society and Culture studies, I am exploring the growing division of homosocial environments—such as sports teams, youth organizations, religious groups, and other single-gender spaces—and how this trend influences the inclusion of gender-diverse individuals.
This research aims to shed light on whether these segregated environments promote or hinder the acceptance and participation of people with diverse gender identities. I am reaching out to gather insights from a broad range of backgrounds, as anyone who has experience with or observations about single-gender spaces is encouraged to participate. Rest assured, the survey does not collect personal identifiers such as names or emails; it only asks for general demographic information, including gender, country, and age group.
If you are involved in or have insights about spaces like sports teams, scouting groups, religious organizations, or youth clubs that are segregated by gender, your input would be especially valuable. Many teenagers are active in these types of environments, and your experiences could contribute significantly to this study.
Currently, responses from gender-diverse and transgender individuals are particularly limited, and your voice would be highly appreciated. Your perspectives can help inform a better understanding of whether single-gender spaces foster inclusivity or inadvertently create barriers.
Additionally, I am more than willing to exchange surveys, provide guidance on research topics, or offer advice for those undertaking similar projects—especially high school students aiming to explore social issues related to gender. I am passionate about this subject and excited to contribute to ongoing conversations about inclusivity and societal structures.
If you’re interested in participating or have questions about this research, please feel free to reach out. Your insights are invaluable!
Thank you for your support and contribution.
