Understanding the Impact of Single-Gender Spaces on Gender Diversity Inclusion: A Student Research Initiative
As a Year 12 student exploring the complex intersections of society and culture, I am currently undertaking a major project focused on the increasing polarization of homosocial environments and their influence on the inclusion of gender-diverse individuals. This research aims to shed light on how single-gender spaces—such as sports teams, youth groups, religious organizations, and similar settings—affect the experiences and participation of gender-diverse populations.
To gather meaningful insights, I have created a survey that is open to participants from all backgrounds. The survey does not collect personal identifiers like names or emails but includes questions about gender, country, and age group to help analyze patterns across different demographics.
I am reaching out to the community in hopes that others, especially those involved in or with experience in single-gender spaces, might participate. Your responses are invaluable, particularly for gender-diverse and transgender individuals, as I am still seeking more perspectives to enhance the depth of my research.
