Understanding the Impact of Single-Gender Environments on Gender Diversity Inclusion
As a high school senior currently undertaking my Society and Culture major project, I am exploring an increasingly relevant social issue: the role of single-gender spaces and their influence on the inclusion of gender-diverse individuals.
This research aims to examine how the segregation of social and recreational environments—such as sports teams, community clubs, religious groups, and other single-gender organizations—affects the participation and acceptance of gender-diverse people. Given the importance of fostering inclusive communities, I am eager to gather insights from a diverse range of experiences.
Participants from all backgrounds are welcome to contribute to this survey. It is entirely anonymous; no personal identifiers such as names or emails are requested. The survey includes questions about gender identity, country of residence, and age group to better understand different perspectives. I particularly encourage individuals involved in single-gender activities—such as sports clubs, scouting, religious groups, or community organizations—to share their experiences.
Your responses are invaluable, especially for transgender and gender-diverse individuals, as current data on this topic remains limited.
Additionally, I am happy to support others researching related subjects or provide advice on designing and conducting high school projects. Having completed the full course in under a month, I am passionate about this area of study and eager to collaborate.
